Inspirational Quote Of The Month – March 2018

By | March 16, 2018

March has been a busy!  I haven’t posted anything since March 2, 2018.  However, I’m back to a normal schedule for a little while.  I do expect that April and May will also be equally as busy, but so it goes.  Once I switch to my new position at work, I will be constantly busy!  The point is that the number of posts I write may slow down, but don’t worry. Dividend Portfolio isn’t going anywhere!  I plan to keep blogging as long as I maintain my portfolio, and I have about another 16 to years to go before retirement!  Hahahahaha.  But, because of the impact that the change in tempo at work is having on my ability to post, I wanted to find an inspirational quote that fits my current circumstance.  I think I did that and hopefully it’s a quote that helps motivate you for the rest of the month into the next. Here goes.

Inspirational Quotes For March

Before I share with you the inspirational quote of the month, let’s review last month’s quote.

My inspirational quote for February was:  “I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.” – Jimmy Dean.

My inspirational quote for March is:  “It does not matter how slowly you go, so long as you do not stop.” – Confucius.

I especially like this quote this month because I haven’t been able to post as frequently, but I realize the importance of blogging when I can.  As long as I don’t quit, I’m still in the game, and I’m in the game of life to win it.  So, blogging wise, it’s been a slow month for me, even though I’ve maintained my level of investing in my dividend portfolio.  That’s the beauty of having your accounts automatically set up.  The automation works in the background so you don’t have to.  Also, because of increased work expenses that were both expected and unavoidable, I had to decrease the amount of money that I used to pay down on my student loans this month.  Those expenses will be reimbursed and so I’ll be making up the difference later.  But, that’s how things are going to be for the foreseeable future.

This quote was inspirational to me this month.  I hope you can find inspiration in it too.  As a bonus, the other quote I was thinking about using this month was a quote from an unknown person.  It goes, “Don’t stop when you’re tired.  Stop when you’re done.”  The point is that there will be bumps along the way, but it’s important to keep going until you reach your goal.

Inspirational Quotes From The DGI Community

These are the inspirational quotes from the DGI community last month.  As always, if you want your quote to appear in the section below, just leave me your quotes in the comments section before publication of the next edition of the inspirational quotes of the month.

Dividend Geek – “Don’t look for the needle in the haystack.  Just buy the haystack.” – John C. Bogle.  That’s a good quote Geek.  This reminds me of a scene from Batman v. Superman when Clark Kent was asking Bruce Wayne how he got the house back from the bank. The house had been foreclosed by the bank. Bruce Wayne responded, “I bought the bank.”

Dividend Solutions“Never allow waiting to become a habit. Live your dreams and take risks. Life is happening now.” – Unknown.  I think that’s a good quote.  We should be mindful of the habits we form.  They will either be good or bad.  Why not make them good habits.  So, I generally agree with the quote.  Don’t let waiting be a habit.

Conclusion

Sometimes in the race we call life, we may get a little tired or even a little busy.  It’s ok to slow down.  In fact, I’ll disagree with my own quote above and say it’s ok to rest for a bit when you’re tired.  But I do think that no matter how slowly you go, you’ll reach your goal as long as you do not stop.

I hope you got a little extra inspiration or motivation from one or more of the quotes above.  Now, leave your quote in the comment section below so we can all inspire each other.

They Tom, it updates automatically. Sometimes it’s slightly off, but I don’t mess with it.

Thanks p2035. Sometimes it’s not easy to stay motivated or to set yourself apart from what everyone else is doing. I wanted to figure out a way to add value to my readers without have it be a huge burden to what I’m already doing. Market research and analysis takes time, and plus, I’m not that good at it to be quite frank. But, trying to find a quote to help motivate me and others for the month is something I can do and actually like doing.

I’m glad you liked the post and I do plan on keeping it going.

Hi DP, I have been thinking about the Confucious quote a lot as it relates to blogging. It is helpful.

Here’s a thought in my head today for next months inspiration….

You can build a limitless amount of wealth, but health and time are the scarce resources. Only 24 hours a day and an unknown shelf life on one’s health. Use those scarce resources wisely…

Nice quote. Always a classic pulling out anything from Confucius.

This quote is what I strive for in my blogging. Create value to everyone and share my knowledge to help others. Hope everyone has some sort of take away that they can use at some point in their life.

Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value. —Albert Einstein

It’s all about the why geek. Sometimes we forget the why, but if we can remember the why, it helps us stay the course. Good quote.

    Hey DP,

really like that one – tx for sharing…in life it’s often about endurance or not giving up…”one hit wonders” come and go, but lasting success doesn’t come over night usually, it’s hard work, discipline and dedication. and it fits perfectly to dividend growth investing! slow and steady wins the race.

Here is my quote: “Although it’s easy to forget sometimes, a share is not a lottery ticket..It’s part ownership of a business” @TheInvestology
