Busy Season

By | April 27, 2018

Wow, a full two weeks have gone by without me making a post.  I hate to say it but that’s something you might have to get used to for the next several months.  If work wasn’t crazy busy before, it is definitely crazy busy now.  Think of it like an accountant preparing for Tax day.  Except, in my case, tax day comes several times a month for the next several months!  My upcoming new position at work will NOT make things any easier. But, I will cross that bridge when I get there.  What is true, however, is that the busy season is upon me!

So, as I weather the upcoming storm, you can count on the following regular posts:  Dividend Income Reports at the beginning of the month, a Progress Report soon there after, and the Inspirational Quote of the Month around the middle of the month.  There might be a post here or there, but these three will hopefully be constant.  You can expect the Progress Report to last through October.  Once I pay off my student loans, I might eliminate or reduce the postings on that subject.

Conclusion

Well, there you have it.  I didn’t want to make this a long post.  Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere.  However, the busy season at work is making it more difficult for me to post more frequently.  Once it is over, I will certainly let you know.  Until that time, don’t go anywhere.  I will still be visiting blogs in the DGI Community and commenting where I can.  I just won’t be posting as frequently given the foreseeable future.

Good luck with everything you have going on DP. It’s great you have a plan to keep your blog active. Those 3 posts plus another wild card one should be good enough each month. Otherwise it is easy to let the blog slip into an inactive state and lose the readers you have worked so hard to attain. Tom

Hey Tom, that’s the plan – to keep the blog post active. My retirement date is about 16 years away. I plan on doing everything I can to be an active blogger for that duration of time. No promises once retirement hits, but I suspect I might still be blogging.

No worries Brian. Some folks do that and it works fine for them. We got to each do what works for us. I’m fully supportive either way.

Hey Div Portfolio, great that you’re communicating your plans with everyone so you don’t put unnecessary pressure on yourself. Different priorities take hold at different points in time, but it’s fantastic if you can keep everything else ticking along on maintenance mode in the meantime, including the blog.

Good luck with the crazy busy workload – just one day at a time!

    Cheers, Frankie

Thanks Frankie. They say that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. The blog is actually a mental relief for me sometimes. It’s fun and I like it so I can’t imagine not maintaining it. But, taking things one day at a time is good advice. Thanks!

Appreciate it Mr. Robot, but the time blogging doesn’t take away from my ability to think about the financial decisions I’m making. It’s just that because I have so much things going on that I might not find as much time to blog as I would like sometimes.
