Inspirational Quotes Of The Month – November 2017

By | November 15, 2017

Last month, this blog introduced the Inspirational Quotes of the Month project.  The idea is simple and the guidelines are contained in that post. But, around the 15th of the month, I will choose a favorite quote of mine that I hope is, well, inspirational. The goal is to provide that little bit of extra inspiration to help us get through the month. However, it’s a community affair. So, readers are encouraged to leave quotes in the comment section. Those quotes are then shared in my monthly post to provide inspirational quotes to my readers. Well, now it’s that time of the month.

Inspirational Quotes For November

Before I share with you the current quote of the month, let’s take a brief review of last month’s quote.

My inspirational quote for October was: “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t — you’re right.”

My inspirational quote for November is:  “I cried because I have no shoes, until I met a man with no feet.” – Unknown.

I suppose there are two ways to look at this quote. On the one hand, you can say that taking comfort in the sadness of others is not a good thing. But, I don’t think that’s the point of the quote. On the other hand, I think the point is that one should be reminded that no matter how bad the situation is you’re going through, it could always be worse. So, it’s probably not a bad idea to be grateful for the blessings that you have in your life.  So, as Thanksgiving approaches, and if you’re having a down time this month, just remember that there are many things to be thankful for, including all the blessings you have in your life.

Inspirational Quotes From The DGI Community

Here we go.  These were the inspirational quotes from the Community last month.  Hopefully, they will also inspire you for the rest of this month. The quotes appear in the order they appear in the comments section.

Broke Investor – “No matter how slow you are going, you are still lapping those sitting on the couch” – Not only does this apply to running competitions and fitness, but also to every field in life, including getting passive income from dividends.

Single Dad Money – “I spent most of my money on Booze, Broads and Boats. The rest I wasted.” – Elmore Leonard. A good reminder that it’s important to have fun in life.

Mr. All Things Money“Happiness is not the absence of problems, but the ability to deal with them.”  That’s a good one Mr. ATM and I couldn’t agree more.

Passive Canadian Income“Excuses only matter for the people making them.” Another good quote to keep in mind. I think this is a key attribute of successful people.

Dividend Solutions – “It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up.” – Vince Lombardi.  So much in life comes down to the choices we make. Sometimes that includes making the choice to get back up.

Divided Daze – “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” – Arthur Ashe.  A great quote to serve as the final quote for this month. Thanks for the reminder Dividend Daze.

Conclusion

Every now and again, we all could benefit from an inspirational quote. Hopefully, you found a useful quote or at least enjoyed reading this post. Remember, if you want your favorite quote included for next month, leave them in the comments section below.

DP, Very nice. I have thought of this months quote often over the years. I first saw it many years ago reading Dale Carnegie’s book How to Stop Worrying and Start Living. In Chapter 15 “Would You Take a Million Dollars for What You Have?”, Mr. Carnegie tells a story of how this quote came about. You should check it out, it brings great context to it’s meaning. It is phrased a little differently in the book and I will leave on that note…..

“I had the blues because I had no shoes. Until upon the street, I met a man who had no feet.”

    Have a great day! Tom

A quote by Marcus Aurelius. Now there’s an author you don’t hear everyday in quotes.

Glad my last quote made the list for this post. I’ll stick with the Thanksgiving theme this month and use this quote:

Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough. –Oprah Winfrey

I think the one by Mr. ATM is my favorite. Namely, “Happiness is not the absence of problems, but the ability to deal with them.”

Great quote for this month. Sometimes i feel in the dumps and then see someone who has harder battles. (Health problems, etc etc) it really puts it into perspective.
Thanks for including me in previous quotes.
Im a huge fan of steve jobs although he has alot of great quotes this one stands out the most for me.

“You cant connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust the dots will somehow connect in your future.”

Sometimes we wonder why we are doing things in the moment but looking back you always can think hey i learned this back then and its helping me now or has helped fix this problem. Etc etc.

    Great post keep em coming.
