Transfer Tuesday – September 27, 2022

By | September 28, 2022

Recently, I announced a new project entitled: Transfer Tuesdays. Basically, every Tuesday, I take the money I earn from doing Rideshare and transfer it to my Qapital account. I save 30% of the funds for taxes. I save the remaining 70% and record that figure in the chart below. The goal is to record a different amount each Tuesday in order to fill the chart. Some Tuesdays (in the interest of speed), I may be recording two separate amounts. The total amount for completing the chart is at least $20,000! I really hope I stick with this project, which is why I am committed to Transfer Tuesdays. Let’s see how much I was able to contribute on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

Rideshare Income

Over the past week, I earned a total of $106 for the week (rounded up). Of that amount, $14.43 came from Uber and $91.25 came from Lyft. The total was 105.68. So I rounded the figure up to $106. In future posts, I will only use rounded whole numbers where applicable.

30% of $106 is $32 and that’s what I saved for taxes. The remaining $74 was recorded on my $200 Envelope challenge spreadsheet as shown below:

$74 is now highlighted. I just realize that the tracker doesn’t include a spot for the date that I made the transfer. That’s ok. I’ll reference the dates during my Transfer Tuesday posts.

Final Thoughts

I am excited about Transfer Tuesdays. The project encourages me to drive more for Uber and Lyft. The more money I earn, the more I can transfer into my account. And, the quicker I can complete the chart. It will some time but I am confident that discipline and accountability will help get me there.

Finally, as a practical matter, you can expect my Transfer Tuesday report to be posted on Wednesdays. Wish me luck.

Having the goal really helps JC! I really wasn’t saving before, but now, not only do I have a specific goal to save for, I have increased motivation to do so. Having rates on savings account higher than before is a nice plus. Be sure to check out my next Transfer Tuesday post. It’s going to be a good one!
