Happy Veteran’s Day! I have an announcement. Dividend Portfolio is now generating, on average, $25 per month from dividends. This is an important milestone and the first of many. As of today’s writing, the forward annual dividends is $302.31, which works out to $25.19 in dividends per month, on average. The sky is the limit. As you may know, I recently had to rebuild my portfolio having sold stocks to fund the down payment on a condo. Hopefully, there won’t be another reason for me to sell my stocks again before retirement.
The Next Milestone
Although it’s important to recognize the small milestones along the way, this is no time to take my foot off the gas. My immediate goal is to get my portfolio balance to $10,000 by the end of the year. That is mainly a psychological goal, as regardless of what the portfolio balance is, I won’t be selling. But, having that goal is forcing me to find ways to put money into my dividend portfolio.
At present, my portfolio balance is around $7500. So, I have about $2500 to go, and I normally only invest about $740 in my portfolio on a monthly basis. Despite the hurdle, I am still on track to meet my goal before the end of the year.
To make a long story short, I want to end 2020 on a strong note and start 2021 with a huge momentum and focus on building the portfolio back even stronger than it was before.
Conclusion
$25 per month on average is an exciting start. The next goal is $50 per month, on average, and then, the all important triple digit territory of earning $100 per month on average in dividend income. I can’t wait, but as the saying goes, slow and steady wins the race. Here at Dividend Portfolio, we will make it by earning one dividend at at time.
