Dividend Income Report – November 2018

By | December 9, 2018

We are in the last month of the year.  Amazing!  The year went by quick. Apparently, Winter Is Here!  That’s for all you Game of Thrones fans.  For some reason, I like saying winter is coming.  Indeed, my dividends are coming. I know that October was my slow month, so I’m really excited to see what November has to bring.  Thanksgiving is over and gone.  Black Friday sales are done.  Cyber Monday is long behind us.  Now, we are in the last month of the last year. This post has been a bit overdue, but now it’s time to see how the portfolio did for November.  Enough stalling.  Let’s dive in.

Dividend Income

In November, I received a total of $124.92 in dividends broken down as follows:

NO. STOCK NAME DIVIDENDS
1 AAPL Apple  $7.36
2 ABBV Abbvie  $26.07
3 GIS General Mills  $19.12
4 HRL Hormel Food $8.33
5 O Realty Income  $8.45
6 PG Proctor & Gamble  $15.02
7 SBUX Starbucks  $12.23
8 T AT&T  $28.34
 $124.92

Very respectable.  The portfolio is moving in the right direction and, predictably, returned over $100 in dividend income.  I am very excited to see how 2019 will treat the dividend portfolio.  Recently, I reduced the minimum contribution to my portfolio.  There’s a slight chance that I might go back to the original amount I was investing because I’m still not seeing the results in my savings account.  I just need to get past the holiday season and I expect that with the extra motivation that comes along with every New Year, I’ll be just fine.

Annual Comparison:

Below is a graphical representation of my dividends this year as compared to last:

Here is the raw data:

MONTH 2017 2018 Rate
April $0.41 $31.47 7575.61%
May $2.85 $79.33 2683.51%
June $16.89 $98.51 483.24%
July $5.99 $42.32 606.51%
August $21.95 $108.44 394.03%
September $28.72 $111.15 287.01%
October $23.21 $48.09 107.20%
November $62.11 $124.92 101.13%
As you can see, even though the growth rate is going down in percentages, I’m still above triple-digits.  I am very pleased with this November as compared to last year. Finally, the Dividend Tracker has been updated accordingly.

Forward Annual Dividends

At the time of this writing, my forward annual dividend is $1246.31.  A month ago, my forward annual dividend projection was $1195.16.  This represents an increase of $51.15 or 4% in my forward annual dividend income.  I think this is one on of the highest monthly increases I’ve had in my forward annual dividends.  I’m still looking forward to the time when I can hit $1500 in my forward annual dividends which will hopefully happen next year.

Conclusion

Another strong month as the year comes to a close.  Looking forward to finishing the year strong.  I know there are a lot of competing interests in 2019, and so it’s important to start the New Year strong.  So I’m very pleased with this dividend income report.  The stock market has been volatile recently, which includes sizable declines. But, in the background, my dividends are there working hard for me.  That’s one of the beautiful things about the dividend growth investing strategy.

This report has been long overdue.  I try to get these out during the first three days of the month.  But, notwithstanding the timing of this publishing, I hope it provided some value.

Way to go DP, very nice month! We share 7of your 8 holdings from November, with the outlier being Hormel. You’re still pulling down some outstanding growth numbers, and I too am sure you’ll be crossing that $1500 milestone in no time!

I know I wrote it, but for some reason, I just realize that it was 100% growth! Haha. Thanks.

Thanks ED. I fully expect to finish off the year with another 100+ month. January will be slow, but I will definitely finish the year strong.

Thanks Daze. I can’t argue with 100% growth at all.
